Paris 16th district Villas and Private roads
Paris Ouest Sotheby's International Realty Agency has in its portfolio many luxury apartments and exceptional properties in the neighborhood’s prestigious private streets.
Hameau Boileau
This property gets its name from the nearby street bearing the same name; it was created from 1838 by Lemercier. Pierre Bonaparte and Carpeaux among personalities who lived here. Boileau was, as mentioned previously, an illustrious inhabitant of Auteuil in the late 17th century.
Avenue de Montespan
This little 160 meter long street owes its name to the Marquise de Montespan, Louis XIV’s mistress.
Rue de Pomereu
This private road was opened in 1889 on land belonging (unsurprisingly) to a certain M. Pomereu
Villa Saïd
The creator of this private street opened in 1869 was also one of the creators of the Suez Canal. The name was that of the Viceroy of Egypt, Said Pasha (1822- 1863). Paul Dalloz died at n° 3 in 1887. Anatole France lived at n° 5 from 1893. He married his housemaid in1920, happy to finally found a woman "who confuses Hamlet and omelet"!
Villa Scheffer
This private cul-de-sac was named after artist Ary Scheffer (1795-1858), like the street from which it is accessed, previously known as rue des Moulins.
