On the occasion of Sotheby's International Realty France’s publication of
its analysis of the situation and trends in the luxury realty market,
Alexander Kraft, CEO, highlights the drive and strong growth in the luxury
market in 2018. He reminds us that while foreign buyers are still
investing in Paris, the return of French nationals has stimulated the
market; quality assets at the right price can be sold in just 24 hours, and
the volume of sales increased by 72% in the second quarter of 2018.
French nationals have been particularly active since 2017.
Exceptional properties are selling for between 5 and 20 million euro, and Sotheby's
has sold one such property almost every week over recent months. The
Paris market is similar to London's market some years ago, with even the
eastern half of the capital showing signs of activity.
Over the year, according to Alexander Kraft, luxury realty prices have risen by 10% and
2018 will be one of the decade’s best years, not only in Paris but also in
some of the country’s regions.
