This Parisian mansion was sold for 30 million to an embassy

30 million euros: this is the price at which a former private mansion from the beginning of the 20th century was sold in the OECD district in the 16th arrondissement. This property, which once housed the Benelux Embassy, was bought by a business manager who finally decided to part with it after the departure of his children.

The 1,400 sq. m neo-renaissance building has found a taker with a new embassy, after two years punctuated by a dozen visits and several offers. “The property has been examined from every angle. This is one of the longest cases we have had to deal with,” explains Frank Sylvaire, CEO of Paris Ouest Sotheby’s International Realty. The mansion has the particular classification for embassies, CINASPIC (Constructions and installations necessary for public services and collective interest). With its vast rooms, its three staircases, its emergency exits, its two protected car parks and its ballroom, the property therefore perfectly meets the needs of an embassy.
