Architect-designed house, hunting lodge, equestrian estates... when real estate becomes a passion
In prestige real estate, a type of buyers is completely apart. It is composed of the passionate, those buyers who look for a property compatible with their passion.

Among them, you can find those keen on architecture, ancient and modern. They know very precisely in general what they are looking for. Properties built by famous architects such as Mallet-Stevens can rise up to 10 to 50% than their initial price.

The hunters also have precise and demanding criteria: surface of more than 50 hectares, enclosed land, absence of traffic, quality of the building etc. Sotheby’s International Realty sells in the south of Blois a hunting estate of about 520 sq. m in the middle of 117 hectares crossed by a river at the price of 2.4 million euros.

Lastly, buyers of equestrian estates have similar profiles. “They want a nice property of at least 10 hectares. For the horses, you need minimum a paddock, few stables and often a school”, Alexander Kraft, CEO of Sotheby’s International Realty France-Monaco says. Usually present in Normandy or Britany, you can now find some anywhere. Thus, Sotheby’s International Realty offers for sale a 17-hectare stud farm for the price of 890,000 euro.
