Luxury real estate : 2021 a record year
Despite the complicated sanitary context, 2021 is under the best auspices regarding luxury real estate. Sotheby’s International Realty France Monaco has achieved at the end of August more than 910 millions of euros of sales volumes, which represents a rise of 43% compared to last year at the same period. « The last time we saw it, it was 20 years ago » Alexander Kraft, CEO of Sotheby’s International Realty France Monaco, says. How can we explain that? Since Spring 2020, French people want to improve the quality of their lifestyle and invest in a safe value, real estate.

People aged between 30 and 50 who used to rent via seasonal touristic platforms discover the advantages of owning a secondary residence adapted to a more flexible lifestyle. Neuilly-sur-Seine and Hauts-de-Seine in general have been the most prized, even if Paris has kept attracted to investors, including foreigners who come back little by little.

Regarding the prices, they have stagnated, even gone backwards when we talk about « classic » or imperfect properties. The others, flawless and exceptional are sold at their price. Among the most beautiful sales achieved: a private mansion sold for 20 millions of euros in Neuilly-sur-Seine, or villas with direct access to the sea in Corse sold between 5 and 10 millions of euros.
