Real estate special Paris: families leave the 11th
Even if the 11th arrondissement is the most expensive in east Paris, with an average price of €11,137 per square meter, it has been impacted a lot by Covid-19.

Left by families who prefer to go to the suburbs to get a bigger apartment, it appeals to young workers and investors. The first ones go to Oberkampf, boulevard Voltaire and the boundaries of the 3rd and the 4th arrondissements, or in the south of rue de la Roquette near le Marais, but also place de la Nation – rue des Boulets, de Chevreul or des Immeubles Industriels – which is becoming more attractive. It is less noisy than it used to be thanks to the creation of a single traffic lane. But there are few buildings with family apartments and several bedrooms, and outside spaces. Investors focus on small areas that they hope to rent to students, back in the capital after a complicated year 2020.

Regarding luxury real estate, it takes possession of the arrondissement. Indeed, there are many prestige properties and “le Marais clientele move more and more to the 11th, as boulevard Beaumarchais” explains Margot Royer-Boquillon, manager of the office Paris Marais Sotheby’s International Realty.
