Contemporary art - sales for the second half of the year were €28 million
In Paris, Sotheby's recorded sales of 28 million euros for the second half of the year thanks to the latest sales in December.
 
Evening Sale
Various sales took place, such as the unpublished "Composition" by Chu Teh-Chun sold for 3.2 million euros, the work by Kazuo Shiraga sold for 2.4 million euros and "15.05.62" by Zao Wou-Ki sold for 1.9 million euros. 
Other major works were offered for sale, such as the Atelier de la rue de Crussol ensemble, which doubled its high estimate to reach a value of 1.3 million euros, but also that of Jean Dubuffet's Hourloupe, which won 1.6 million euros.
The sale also included flagship works from the Brooklyn Museum such as Paysage avec êtres tenter de se former and Paysage en fusion sold for €363,400 and €252,000 respectively.
In addition to paintings, works such as the Louis Vuitton trunk offered by Yayoï Jusama were a great success, and were sold for 239,400 euros.
 
Sale of the day
The sale of the day was Friedensreich Hundertwasser's Night of the Drinker, which won 4.7 million euros.
Finally, Theodor Ahrenberg's collection won 32,760 euros with the painting Sans Titre d'Arman.
